About SafeIn.ae

Getting current and trustworthy news in a time of crisis is essential. When the conflict escalated, many of us turned to WhatsApp groups and social media for information. But what we found was overwhelming: fake news, disinformation, and hate speech were rampant.

Too many people consciously spread false information to game social media algorithms and gain exposure. More nefarious actors actively spread disinformation to cause panic. And, sadly, some lack the basic empathy to understand that human suffering is not something to be celebrated.

Instead of informed, we felt more stressed and confused. The noise was drowning out the signal.

So we built SafeIn.ae — a curated feed of official UAE government outlets and trustworthy sources with reputable journalistic standards. Simple, clean, and factual.

What this is

  • A curated collection of updates from official and verified sources
  • A resource for UAE residents and travellers stranded in the country during the crisis
  • A way to stay informed without the confusion of unverified social media

What this is not

  • This does not replace official government channels or emergency services
  • This is not a news outlet — we curate and aggregate, we do not report
  • Always follow instructions from UAE authorities and official emergency services

Our commitment to verified information

The UAE Public Prosecution has issued clear guidance: publishing or circulating rumours, false news, or unverified content through social media or any digital platform can lead to legal accountability under Federal Decree Law No. 34 of 2021 on Combating Rumours and Cybercrimes — even for those who share or repost content they did not create.

We fully support this position. During times of heightened tension, disinformation doesn't just misinform — it causes panic, undermines trust, and can endanger lives. This is exactly why SafeIn.ae exists.

What we do to comply:

  • We only aggregate content from official UAE government channels and news outlets with established editorial standards
  • External (non-official) reports are clearly labelled as "pending official verification"
  • We do not publish user-generated content, social media rumours, or unattributed claims
  • Our automated pipeline filters for relevance and source credibility before any item appears on the feed

We urge all visitors to obtain information only from official and approved sources, and to think carefully before sharing anything online. If in doubt, don't share it.

Transparency

Every source below is actively monitored. Sources are split into two tiers based on their authority and the filtering rules applied to their content.

How we filter content — Tier 1 sources are published in full. Tier 2 sources go through an additional UAE-relevance filter to ensure only content pertaining to UAE safety, operations, or regional events makes it to the feed.
